Jimmy Havugimana is the data controller for personal information collected through Begin Again.
What we collect and why
- Account details (email, name, sign-in credentials) — to create and secure your account (contract).
- What you write (journal entries, setbacks, "my why", what helped, Walk With Me conversations, onboarding answers) — only to provide the service to you (contract; consent for sensitive information you choose to share).
- Usage events (e.g. "opened Daily Word", "finished onboarding" — never what you write) — to improve the product (legitimate interests).
- Technical data (IP address, device/browser info) — security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests).
Your private writing is visible only to you — not to other users and not to our administrators. We never sell personal information.
Who we share with
- Service providers who host our app and database, and the AI service that generates Walk With Me replies (your messages are sent only to produce a reply).
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where required by law.
Retention and your rights
We keep your data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it when no longer needed. You can delete your entries anytime in Profile → Delete my data. You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data, and object to processing, as provided by the law where you live, via the Support page.
Security and cookies
We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-user data protections. We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in; no advertising cookies.
